Good morning friends.
You may be pleased to learn that H.R. 5984, “The Clean Energy Tax Stimulus Act of 2008” would provide for the limited continuation without offsets of incentives for renewable energy production and energy efficiency that would otherwise expire at the end of 2008. I believe that maintaining consistent incentives for renewable energy policy will free up American businesses to be innovative and that will result in American ownership of Intellectual Property rather than foreign companies. In addition, more domestic production of energy will reduce reliance upon foreign energy sources. Business owners in my district believe the development of a low-cost solar industry in the United States would likely be significantly delayed if the federal tax credit were not extended. That is why I am a strong supporter of H.R. 5984.
